The End

We finally arrived at the end of the spring quarter, and we all are very happy that summer vacation will begin soon. But at the same time we feel sad. For me was interesting to be in this class because I met new students and a new Teacher. I had a lot of fun in this quarter to study English with my classmates. So I will miss them. I really feel very happy because in this vacation I will spend more time with my family. When I studied this quarter O did not have too much time to be with my family. I think some of my classmates I will met in the summer quarter that will be great. I would like to say to everybody happy vacation and many achievements in the future!! Good Luck to the final tests.

Tacoma

Today I want to write about our city Tacoma. What is good and what is terrible. There are two reasons why Tacoma is a good city, and one reason why Tacoma is a terrible city. The first reason is that Tacoma has beautiful parks that are very well arranged. The parks have a playground where the children can play. Some parks have a place where people can play tennis or basketball. I like to go with my family in the park I like to play with my children. The second reason why Tacoma is a good city is, in Tacoma we do not have problems with parking. For example if I go to the bank, restaurant, store, or my friends houses, every time I can find place for parking. For these reasons Tacoma is a good city. Finally the reason why Tacoma is a terrible city is Tacoma has a bad public transportation. The buses traveling rarely and people wait too much, sometimes in the rain, because many bus stations do not have any cover. Tacoma for me is a good city. In Tacoma we have some problems but in other cities there are as many. I am glad to live in Tacoma.

Easter in Moldova

Easter is one of the most important celebrations in Moldova this celebration has a lot of traditions. I want to describe some of them from Thursday and until Monday, the second day of Easter. Starting Thursday, people cease work on the field and focus on the houses, the land, for everything to be clean. Also on Thursday women begin to cook bread. Friday women paint eggs. Symbolic red eggs come from the passion of Jesus Christ who was beaten with stones that turned into red eggs. Saturday is the last day for the preparation of Easter, when women need to prepare most meals, and make the last preparations to the new clothes they will dress in days of Easter. Saturday is the day when people sacrifice the lamb, which is traditional food. Early Sunday morning, after first rooster crows, everyone gets up to go to the service of Resurrection. After church all family members sit for the first Easter festive meal. First day of Easter should be spent quietly. Is prohibited any fun activity. Monday, the second day of Easter, people give alms for the dead, going in most cases to the cemetery. The biggest celebration of the Christians, the Resurrection of Christ, is the opportunity for Moldovans to live holy moments of joy, but also to celebrate in the community.

My favorite person
Hello everybody I want to write about my favorite person who has influenced in me when I was a child. When I was a child my favorite person was my grandfather. My grandfather was a very nice person. He loved me because he was resembled to me. I loved him to. He was very patient with me. I sometimes was doing bad things, and when my Father wanted to punish me my grandfather defend me. I remember he said to my father let him, he is a child. I liked when he told stories about the war. I remember once I wanted to buy a ball but my Dad did not want to give me money. When my grandfather heard that he gave my money for the ball. My grandfather was died when I was 12 years old. I was very sad and felt very sorry. I have good memories about him. I think each of as has a favorite person when he was child.

Superstitions

Today I want to write about superstitions. Moldavians are people who believe in the old words of the elders they are called superstitions. There are many superstitions; I want to write about some of them. Ladies think about 5 to 6 names of boys that you would like to marry. While stem toss an apple, recite the name and the name that you pronounce it when the stem has snapped is the name that you chose to be husband. If some ladies want to know if your friend loves you rip flower petals one by one, saying this time, loves me does not loves me, and when you reach the last petal, you will find the answer to your question. Who wants to get married soon need to go to the wedding because, after marriage declaration, fresh bride throw the bouquet of flowers behind her, the women themselves who participate in party. The ladies, who will catch the bouquet, will marry soon. If you dream lilies, that means joy for loved ones. Who dreams of radio that means the friends say good things about you. Broken eggs in your dream means family quarrel. I think we believe in superstitions because we do not want something bad to happen to us, or if the superstitions bring good luck we want to happen to us.

The end of the quarter

Of course it is almost the end of the quarter. This quarter we have been learning a lot of interesting things. In this quarter we learned how to write essay how to find correctly the main idea and the topic sentence in the essays. And also we did Plato in which we study run-on sentences, where to put coma in sentence, clauses and more new interesting materials. At the end of the quarter I want to learn more how to correct sentences by myself. For me is hard to correct sentences because when a sentence is wrong it sounds to me like a correct sentence. In my opinion all material which we study is difficult for us. For this reason most of this material we have to practice again and again. If we will not practicing every day we have a chance to forget part of what we learned. So we have to read and write everyday to improve our English. Good luck to all.

Summary
This week I read Sciencekhoa’s blog. He wrote about how to improve our speed reading. He is not a Native American. For this reason he is reading a little slowly. If the material is difficult he is reading more carefully because he intent to understand the content. In his blog Sciencekhoa is writing how Teacher explains to us different way to improve our reading. Sciencekhoa thinks if we will spend more time in reading we will become a good quality readers in the future.
I also read Victor’s blog, he wrote about speed reading to. Victor sad his reading is slow because he is not a native speaker. He found out how to improve speed reading. The Teacher explains how to do that. At the beginning he thought it was crazy, but after a while he realized that steps are very helpful, and can help us to improve our speed reading. Victor sad thanks to teacher for showing us different steps how to improve speed reading.

Heating System
I want to write about heating system that people have from villages in Moldova. In the village every house has a stove because in villages they do not have central heating system. For this reason people have to make a fire in the stove. To make a fire in the stove people need to have wood and coal. Many of those living in villages begin to supply the wood and coal in time, but are so hard. Many people do not have many to buy the wood and coal. When winter comes people cut the wood and put it in a dry place. Is not easy to make fire in the stove, because the stove has two small doors and when you light the fire in the stove you need to know which door you have to close and which door you have to leave a little open. If you do not know these rules in a few minutes the house will be full of smoke. When outside is very cold, people have to make fire in stove two times a day, but in the winter people in Moldova are not too busy and they can do that. I think all this process is a little boring but people have to do that because in Moldova in winter is too cold.

Benefits of using computers
Everyone knows what is a computer and people do not imagine life without computers. We can use computers are every were in schools at home. Many people are convinced that computers are not very important and necessary for people, but I think they are for away from reality. In my opinion computers are very useful people can use it at work students can find a lot of information in the computers.
First of all computers replaces the people or lightens a lot the man’s work in many economical branches. A lot of companies and factories are equipped with computers, so their job is done more quickly and efficiently. Another step of computers is the internet access. If you need some information it’s enough to click a link and the material that you are looking will appear immediately.
Second computers are very useful for students. I think for every student computers are like a friend. Students can find a lot of information in the computer. For example if I do not understand something in class I can go home or to the library open the computer and find the information what I need. Know a lot of students are studding online. I think studding online is a big opportunity for students who are married and have a baby.
To sum up computers are very important in our life. In my opinion without computers life would be boring and would be more difficult to study. Computer has also a big importance for international relations. Thanks to internet is possible the connection and communication between people from different parts of the world. Students can learn and compare information possibilities with the ones which use computers. I think the computers are the future of the world.

Sagrada Familia
Barcelona is a beautiful city, and it has a lot of interesting places. Barcelona is situated on the Mediterranean shore. I want to describe one beautiful Museum the name is Sagrada Familia. Sagrada familia is like a temple that has been under construction since 1982. One part of this Temple is old and other part is new. Every part of the design of la Sagrada Familia is replete if Christian symbolism. It has three facades each one bears the name and statue of apostle. Each tower has over 100 meters. Inside the Sagrada Familia, some areas are dedicated to religious concepts. If you want to go to the top you can take elevators, or climb 400 steps. Once at the top you can walk around the walls and enjoy partial views of Barcelona. If you gays someday will be in Barcelona do not miss the chance to visit Sagrada Familia.

My Family
I want to describe my family. My family is very big. I have two brothers and three sisters. All my family is living here in America. My father and my mother are living here to. I have been married for five years. I have a beautiful wife, my wife is from Moldova. My wife’s name is Galina; her family is not here they are in Moldova. She is studying at TCC she is in ESL program level six. We have two cute children their names are Adelina and Denis. Adelina is a girl she is two years old and four months. Denis is a boy he is almost nine months old. I love my children and my wife very much. I am very happy; I have a big and friendly family. We support each other and help.

Speed Reading

Thursday our class was in building 11 in senate room. There was a Teacher who explained to us how we can improve our reading, and what we have to do to improve our speed reading. I am not a good reader in English because English is not my first language. For this reason for me is difficult to read fast because some words are hard to pronounce some of them I do not understand. I'm agree with what the teacher said; often depends on the text content if text contains unfamiliar terms we read more slowly if the text contains easy words we can read faster. Teacher told us some steps how we can improve our reading. I like the steps that Teacher told, but for me is a little hard because when I am reading some words I do not understand. In my opinion we have to read every day to improve our reading.(In this picture is my daughter Adelina!)

What I have learned about writing?

In two or three weeks the quarter will be done. This quarter I learn a lot of things. I think for most students are difficult to study writing. Because sometimes most of letters we should to write but when we hear the word some letters we do not hear. This quarter I learned how to spell a lot of words correctly. Also I learned how to put the sentences in the correct order, because sometimes I am thinking in my language, and in my language am different to make sentences. The writing lessons help me how to write a different kind of essay. Last quarter I was writing only paragraphs but this quarter I write different kind of essay. As a result my writing improved and my vocabulary improved too. One important thing that I learned this quarter is; how to search information for our essay and how to add it information in our essay correctly. Finally I want to say Thanks for all to our Teacher!!!

Is difficult to read in English? Yes it is. For me is difficult to read in English because in English writing is different to reading. For example in my language writing and reading is the same. I like to read different stories, magazines, but sometimes am difficult to understand. Some writers are using a lot of difficult words and idioms. The most difficult for my when I read is pronunciation. I now the pronunciation is difficult for most non native students. In my opinion to improve pronunciation we have to read more is difficult but it will help as to improve our pronunciation.

My goal

Hello everybody! I want to talk about what I will do after finish at TCC. Now I am in studding EAP program because I need to improve my English. I think to take two quarters more in EAP program. After this I will take 95 and 101 English because for starting to study some profession I have to be more fluent in English. My goal is to study about criminal justice, because I want to work a customs and border protection officer. To work in this area I need to have two years college degree. I know is hard to study and now I cannot afford too much things, but I think I need to continue studying. Two weeks ago was a job fair there were a lot of companies. There was a man who was representing Department of Security and I talked with him about my goal. He sad I have a big chance to work in this field because I speak Spanish and Russian and they are looking for people who speak more than one language. So I am very happy!

Registration day

We all know that next Tuesday will be an advising day. Advising day is very important for students who want to continue their education. In this day students have to meet their advisers and talk about their future. Starting Tuesday each student will be able to register for summer or fall quarter. I will go to talk with my adviser to because I have some questions, and adviser will give me a code with this code I will be able to register for next quarter. In summer I want to take EAP classes level 5 and in fall quarter level 6. I have to take EAP classes because my English is not so good. I have been living here for two years, when I came to the U.S I did not understand anything, but now I begin to talk a little. In my opinion everyone who came to the U.S need to study English, also English is the most popular language in the world. For these reasons we have to study hard because our future only depends on us.

Childhood memories
What is a childhood? Childhood is the only moment in which we lived life all maximum intensity. When the cry and laugh happen at the same day. Childhood is a magical land we do not know when and where it begin and do not know when and where it ends. Like any child I also had my childhood. I remember with pleasure about it. Most of this memories I remember but some of them told me my bothers.
In my family we are three bothers and three sisters. I am the fifth child in the family. Often our parents went to work in the field and let me home with my older brothers and sisters to take care of me. Of course like any children they wanted to play and let me without supervision. Nobody wanted to play with me because I was small and could not run with them. They liked to play with neighborhood children and often they forgot about me.
And how we lived near to the pound, one day when our parents were at work they were playing near to the pound with other children. I was like a seven months and I was sitting in the stroller near to the pound. Others small children were playing around the stroller and they crashed me into the pound with stroller. My older sisters were scared when they saw it. They quickly took me and fled home.
So they fled at home to change me the wet clothes. They dressed me in clean and dry clothes, but the dirty clothes they had washed and put it to dry outside to sun. My sisters was very frightened. In the evening when my parents come home after work, I was very clean and they were very happy. They thought how well the girls were cared for me and they praised them for this.
That was my childhood, Beautiful and honest. I grew up under the teachings of my sisters and parents. I grew up in a world where there were no computer games, but we lost hours playing the soccer behind the house and many more games. That was my childhood and I still miss her.

My life
Everybody are changing their life. Sometimes we don’t like to change anything but we need. When something good is changing in our life we are happy. My life is changing very often. First time my live have changed when I was in Spain and second time changed when I came to U.S.
I was only twenty years old when I have had in Spain. In Spain my live changed because there is total different to my country. I used to work by my own and I learned Spanish. They have an different culture. It was hard for me and this things changed my live.
Second time was when I came to U.S. When I came to America I did not know to speak English.

Favorite music!

Music is therapy, rhythm melody or harmony. Some people might ask themselves, what is

music? According to the dictionary music is having rhythm, melody or harmony. But it’s really

Underestimated, more so than anyone can actually realize. Music is learning, a therapy, and

teaching tool. Music adjusts our moods and used trough our lives, we have to incorporate music,

whether playing it, listening to it or using it. Music is therapy because of its positive changes in

human’s activity. My favorite music is hip-hop and country music because it helps me relax and

cheer up.

One of the things I do to make myself relax is to listen to country music. Country music

makes me relax. For example when I’m tired it makes me feel better or when I’m discouraged it

makes me concentrate. Sometimes when I’m homesick it makes me feel better. By remembering

myself of the past and good memories that I had.

Hip-hop music makes me cheer up every time I listen to it. For example when I work and I

listen to this type of music it helps me work faster and with will. Sometimes when I’m sad it

changes my mood. Hip-hop music is happy and it cheers me up. The mood you’re in imports on

the people around you.

To conclude, music takes a big part of my life. Music helps me in good or bad times. Music is

all around us. In my opinion everyone likes to listen to music but different types of it. And I

believe that music makes life much more beautiful. Music is as in art and literature, music is a

revival of old values. Not only strives to provide pleasure, but also to move the listener

Moldova

Hello I want to write about my country. My country name is Moldova. Moldova is a small and beautiful country. I think everyone has plesant memories or beautiful place which they remember them with plesure. So I like tree places in my country and I think these tree places everyone should to visit. These tree beautiful places are the forester, the zoo and the Botany Garden. Forester are beautiful all summer,spring fall and winter. Every season the forester are different and magnifec. Everyone can walk and breath a clean aer. All people feel free to collect flowers of forester. Also if someone wants to make barbecu or play some game they can do anywhere without asking permission. The zoo is too one beautiful place in our country. People in the zoo can see the birds and animals which they never can see in the real life. Another place in our country is the Botany Garden. I like this place because there are many new beautiful and different species of flowers. They are carefuly groomed by wotkers. SO if you some day will go to my country do not miss the chance to visit these places. Thanks and have nice weekend!!!!
